***********SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS!!!**************Here's another one you sure won't find at Guitar center...
Up for grabs is this Russian made /Celestion-like "Bulldog" style guitar speaker. This is a fairly hefty, heavy duty unit ..It weighs 8 pounds, partially to the thicker pole plates..
I acquired this and a few others from a friend abroad, and just HAAAAD to rebuild it..
She was COMPLETELY re-fabricated at PMR in Ohio with all new OEM/ AMERICAN components. There are no after market, replacement, eBay or china junk in it, but ALL AMERICAN components..
Plus, I coated it with a coat of that "Rhino-Liner" paint, to keep the frame dampened and free of ringing. You'd be amazed at how much noise can be transferred into your baffle board just from frame noise..
Anyhow,
The magnetic gap was verified with a gauss/flux probe and measured just fine so it was PURPOSELY NOT de-magnetized/re-magnetized. Some people say these old units sweeten with age and after hearing, I have to agree...
If you're after a fat, thick, meaty, 3D presentation that only the heft of a Hempopotamus can deliver, then this is for you..

that'll give you guys a good idea how she's built..
It even has a coat of colored ReZon-Ex on the surround....
remember that shiny, black, tacky, never 100% completely dry coating on the surrounds of those great old speakers from the 50s/60s/70s??? yep- THAT stuff.
ReZon-ex serves several purposes:
1.)prolongs surround life
2.) Lowers fs
3.) Increases low end response
4.)reduces any remaining cone edge resonances
5.) looks cool
IT WORKS!!!
The overall tonality of this one is quite fat, thick, meaty, and 3 dimensional in it's presentation.
The low end is actually tight and usable because it's not all mushy in that critical couple octaves from 100-400hz.
The midrange is very complex, but yet detailed, if that even makes sense. its quick, detailed, and 'forward" sounding.
The high end is perfectly blended in, because of the open weave acoustically transparent Celestion dust cap. it lets just the right amount of midrange/high end directly out of the core/coil area..
You don't have the usual problematic "Beaming", or "Ice Pick" ... ......No eye squint type tonality...
Now, the coated frame, that heavy dense RHINO LINER black paint provides a nice tough textured finish, true.... but the reason I used it was for it's dampening abilities..
A metal speaker frame can be quite noisy. if you have ever tapped a stripped down metal frame with a screw driver or something metal,,, you'll know what I mean.
This coating took care of most of that, and when combined with a hemp fiber cone, the ReZon-Ex, and the dampened frame, you get to hear MORE of the speaker itself, as it should naturally sound... The devil is in the small details..
***FULLY tested under diagnostics and operates without any rubbing, buzzing, holes, rips, tears, rot or adhesive failures, she works just peachy.....She's basically a new speaker, only BETTER .
Plus- I'm confident enough that you'll LOVE this one, that I am including my 15 day NO GAMBLE return option guarantee from delivery date (((less customer damage ))) if for ANY REASON you simply don't like it..
Welp, that about wraps it up...
So if you want to see what a well built hefty Russian/ Hempopotamus hybrid sounds like, then here ya' go!
ANY questions or concerns, just ask...
THANKS GUYS!!-
